Guy Martin founded the studio in 1981. His professionalism and innovative photography style made his reputation climb quickly as the "must see photographer" in the Ottawa and Orleans community. Well respected in the industry, he never ceases to amaze his colleagues and clients with his lighting and composition skills. Photography has evolved in a very relaxed and natural style, however, understanding lighting and composition needs to remain the number one key to a successful image. Guy is a low key kind of guy and remains true to himself and his craft. Consistency is his motto. He believes photographs not printed are quickly forgotten. Throughout his career, he has won Photographer of the Year in Ontario after being nominated several times (PPO). He also won wedding album of the year twice in Ontario (PPO), wedding album of the year once in Canada (PPOC) and nominated three times for Portrait and Wedding Photographer of the Year in Canada (PPOC). He has over 30 awards in Professional Photography Associations including Wedding Professional Photographers International (WPPI). He is a designer at heart! From spring to fall, you will most likely find Guy somewhere in his garden planting, redesigning and preparing a new area for his outdoor or indoor photography studios. He is in every way, a true artist!

Joelle’s passion for photography and artistic imagery extends beyond her work at Studio G.R. Martin as it encompasses all aspects of her life. Whether she is having lunch with friends, travelling the world, or simply taking photos of items that inspire her, Joelle is always keen on creating beautiful moments in whatever setting she is in. Joelle's commitment to the utmost quality in her work is evidenced by her dedication to the timeless art of photography. While many forms of art are now created digitally, Joelle’s style is revered for its simplicity, elegance and beauty. While her style is reminiscent of classical photography, her kind and delicate approach with clients is unmatched in the industry. Joelle’s goal is to create a familial like atmosphere with clients while always listening to their needs, asking strategic questions to create the most inspiring, and memorable artistic images for families to enjoy for generations. Justine started as a co-op student in 2009 and hasn’t left since; making her part of the Martin family now. She graduated from the photography program at La Cite with the best portfolio of the year in 2013. Justine is one of the masters behind the retouching and printing at Studio G.R. Martin. She is truly a photoshop wiz. Her attention to detail assures that all retouching is held to the highest standards. When she isn’t behind the computer working on all your lovely images, she’s assisting during your session or wedding capturing all those candid moments or getting the kiddos to smile. Justine is an avid world traveller and also enjoys exploring what Ottawa and its surroundings have to offer. She is also known as the dog whisperer and will make sure that your furry family members get all the attention they deserve.

What makes Julie unique is her approach to find the beauty, the joy and the spark in everyday life and in everyone she photographs. Singing, poetry, photography, dancing, music, teaching choir, whatever forms of art it is, it makes her heart sing! Her love of people and larger than life personally helps her run a successful business while listening and understanding what people look for in a portrait. She engages in conversations with her clients until she can create that “one image” that will make them relive that special day in their lives. She developed a production line and retouching style that is now unique to Studio G.R. Martin. She is a retouching expert and loves the satisfaction of printing beautiful wall sizes, albums and portraits!  Since 1999, she was awarded Portrait Photographer of the year in Ontario (PPO) twice, nominated 7 times for Portrait Photographer of the year in Canada (PPOC) and 5 times for Portrait Photographer of the Year in Ontario (PPO). She is the Grand Prize Winner for "THE WALL & THE FALLS" international print competition (PPA-PPOC-CAPA-CAPS)and recipient of the "Trip to China" to represent North America at the Awards ceremony held in BEIJING, CHINA. She is now a judge for the international professional association MPIO and travels to attend and give photography workshops to maintain a position on the cutting edge of photography.
